We’re sorry to hear the plugins didn’t meet your needs. As explained by our developers through the support desk, the credits feature is exclusively managed by YITH Membership. It is not an element included in the integration between YITH Membership and YITH Subscription. For this reason, members get credits based on the membership plan configuration. So, as long as the membership is active, the member keeps getting credits. If the renewal payment is delayed a few days, the member still gets the credits because renewals are managed by YITH Subscription and credits are managed by YITH Membership separately. Of course, if the customer stops paying for the subscription, its status will change to suspended/overdue/cancelled based on your configuration, and that’s when no credits are assigned for the next cycle.

Unfortunately, since you wanted to configure something that was not possible within the plugin settings, all our developers could do was explain why it wasn’t possible and suggest alternative solutions. Just like with the Subscription plugin, the presales team was excellent—very attentive, quick to respond, and genuinely eager to help. Unfortunately, the technical support tells a different story. Responses were extremely brief, I received no real guidance with installation, and after every short reply I had to wait again—sometimes up to 72 hours—before getting the next answer. This stop-and-go process makes it nearly impossible to solve more complex problems.

All in all, the Membership plugin doesn’t deliver what I expected. It’s not well adapted for digital downloads, the support is disappointing, and since it’s a third-party plugin, making custom integrations is unnecessarily complicated. For those who need a robust membership system tailored to digital products, I cannot recommend YITH Membership.

1. Support Team: The support team, particularly Alessio and Carlos, has been patient and attentive. They’ve gone above and beyond to provide custom code and CSS fixes to address some of my concerns, which I greatly appreciate.

Negatives:

1. Lack of Core Functionality: Members cannot cancel or pause their memberships on their own. This is a basic feature that should be included in any membership plugin without requiring an additional plugin.

2. Dependency on Additional Products: The Membership plugin is heavily reliant on the premium version of YITH WooCommerce Subscription for essential functionality, such as managing recurring payments. This makes the Membership plugin feel incomplete, as you’re required to purchase two premium products to achieve what one should provide.

3. Unreadable Design on Black Backgrounds: The membership pages were initially unreadable on a dark background. While the issue was resolved with custom CSS provided by support, it highlights the need for better default styling options.

4. Duplicate Membership Entries Without Premium Subscription: Without the premium version of the subscription plugin, the system creates duplicate membership entries each month, cluttering the admin interface and making membership management unnecessarily complicated.

Conclusion:

The YITH WooCommerce Membership plugin shows promise but struggles to deliver a cohesive, user-friendly experience out of the box. It feels incomplete unless paired with additional premium purchases. While the support team is excellent and works hard to resolve issues, the core product needs significant improvements to justify its cost and utility.
